(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Dubai Municipality inspectors in cooperation with the Dubai Police, arrested 123 violators last month, including street vendors, beggars and illegal car washers. Obeid Ibrahim Marzouqi, Head of Markets Management Section at the Dubai Municipality, said that the move had also resulted in the seizure of several low-quality goods and pirated CDs. Inspectors at the Control Unit of the Markets Administration Section in the Assets Management Department carry out regular checks to take action against the violators. Last month, they caught 111 street vendors, five car washers and seven illegal butchers and fish cleaners, he added. A total of 373 counterfeit products were seized including 187 DVDs, pirated films and pornographic movies, 42 foodstuff items, 139 readymade garments, perfumes, cameras and watches in addition to five alcoholic drinks. The violators, who belong to various nationalities, would be handed over to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs for deportation in coordination with Dubai Police, he said.
