UAE- Epson reaffirms Mideast commitment

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Seiko Epson has reasserted its commitment to the Middle East region, calling it a vital part of its global business and strategy, its top official said. Minoru Usui, president and chief executive officer of the Nagano, Japan-based technology giant - who is also on his first visit to the UAE - said he was "impressed" with Dubai, befitting the strategy Epson has for the region. "We have a focus on these (Middle East) markets, and we are ready to give what the customers need," he said in response to a question from Khaleej Times during a Press conference in Dubai on Sunday. "Every place has specific needs, and we are here to give what this region requires. That's why we are increasing our presence in the Middle East." Usui also gave a special focus on Epson's Micro Piezo technology, widely used in its products for several industries. The piezoelectric-based technology is present in Epson's inkjet printers, delivering high-quality output, reliability and performance. He elaborated on the strategies adopted by the company to overcome the major challenges during the economic crisis, and provided an overview of the latest developments at Epson. As part of Epson's targets, objectives and new investments in the Middle East region, Usui will be meeting various high-ranking officials from the government and private sector during his stay in the UAE. "The Middle East has been a very important growth destination for Epson and it continues to open exciting opportunities to innovate and grow our market share. The region will obviously play a crucial role in Epson's global expansion plans and we are therefore fully committed to deliver technology solutions that satisfy the expectations of our customers in the Middle East," he said. "My visit underlines Epson's enthusiasm to meet our strategic partners and customers in the region to interact with them and to better understand their concerns and unique requirements, which will greatly help us in our continuing pursuit of growth and excellence."
