UAE- Masked intruder held


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Al Ain Police arrested a man for allegedly committing a series of crimes ranging from trespassing, intrusion, rape and theft under threat. The law enforcement authority after receiving six complaints, laid a trap and managed to apprehend him. The alleged culprit who sometimes wore a mask to commit crimes, often targetted women in residential compounds and has been identified as HRB. The 32-year-old Arab national works as an accountant at a hospital in the city. Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Al Omaimi, Director of Al Ain Police said the incidents happened on different dates. Quoting criminal reports he said one rape case and four other crimes including theft, house trespassing, threat and violating others' privacy were reported. "Acting on the complaints, the police conducted investigations. A taskforce from the criminal investigations and intelligence was formed to catch the culprit red-handed," he said. "A plainclothes policeman was deployed near the residential complex." The culprit was arrested red-handed while he was trying to assault a woman. On interrogation, the suspect confessed to most of the crimes. He admitted that he used to watch his women victims and then get into their homes through the window and threaten them with a knife before stealing.
