Jordan- '50,627 voters register for elections on Saturday'


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) The total number of eligible voters who registered for the upcoming elections and received voter identification cards stood at 608,330 voters by the end of Saturday. Independent Elections Commission Spokesperson Hussein Bani Hani said 50,627 voters registered on Saturday. Meanwhile, the National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) will lead a national coalition of several civil society institutions to monitor the registration process for the upcoming parliamentary polls. NCHR Spokesperson Mohammad Hilou said the team would monitor all stages of the electoral process, noting that the coalition will include 1,300 observers who will cover the Kingdom's governorates. The centre will issue its first report on the registration process this week.
