US Oxford Industries nearly doubles Q2 profits


(MENAFN) Atlanta-based apparel firm Oxford Industries Inc. reported a 93 percent jump in quarterly profit, boosted by higher sales of its two biggest clothing lines, Tommy Bahama and Lilly Pulitzer, AP reported. The company said it made USD5 million net profit during its fiscal second quarter ended July 28, up from USD2.6 million a year earlier. Revenue grew 15 percent to USD206.9 million. Sales income from Tommy Bahama increased by 17 percent to USD127.5 million, while Lilly Pulizter sales generated USD30.9 million, 25 percent higher than a year ago. The company expected third-quarter sales to range from USD175 million to USD185 million. Oxford Industries also stuck to its full-year revenue outlook at USD850 to USD865 million.
