Jordan King, Bahraini monarch hold talks on ties, region


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) Jordan and Bahrain on Monday reaffirmed the need to boost bilateral ties, voicing concern over the ongoing bloodshed in Syria. His Majesty King Abdullah yesterday met with Bahrain's King Hamad Bin Issa Al Khalifa and discussed bilateral relations and the latest developments in Syria, a Royal Court statement said. The two leaders highlighted the "deep ties" between their countries and agreed on enhancing them to serve the best interests of Jordan and Bahrain. They also expressed concern over the situation in Syria, as the fighting rages on with no political solution available so far to end the crisis and maintain Syria's unity and sovereignty. During the meeting, King Abdullah outlined Jordan's relief efforts to support Syrian refugees, stressing that the Kingdom will continue providing the assistance despite its limited resources. King Hamad is on a two-day official visit to Jordan. King Abdullah received the Bahraini monarch upon his arrival at Marka Military Airport in Amman. HRH Prince Feisal, Prime Minister Fayez Tarawneh, Royal Court Chief Riyadh Abu Karaki, King's Office Director Emad Fakhoury, diplomats, and senior officials and officers attended the meeting on Monday. King Abdullah later held a dinner banquet in honour of the Bahraini leader and the accompanying delegation. Their Royal Highnesses Prince Hassan and Prince Rashid also attended the banquet.
