Tunisia detains 3 Kuwaitis

(MENAFN- Arab Times) Three Kuwaiti citizens have been detained by Tunisian authorities for possession of counterfeit money worth $2,000, reports Al-Seyassah daily. During interrogations, the citizens informed Tunisian authorities they were unaware about the fact that $2,000 from the $12,000 cash they were carrying was counterfeit. They revealed that they obtained the money from exchange offices in Kuwait before travelling to Tunisia. A number of MPs have requested Ministry of Foreign Affairs to contact the Tunisian authorities for the release of the citizens, claiming, "The size of the amount does not require the charge of trading in counterfeit money on the citizens who went to Tunisia as tourists." Tunisian authorities have detained the three citizens three days back after finding counterfeit dollars among the money they had in hand.
