Oman- MSM closes flat amid steady activity


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The local bourse inched down 0.05 per cent to close at 5,537.30 on Sunday compared to the previous trading session. Trading activity held steady with around 21.7mn shares exchanging hands, turning over RO3.9mn.

Gulf Investment (-1.1 per cent at 90bz) soaked up much of Sunday's activity, closing deep in the red, while Al Anwar Holding (+2.84 per cent at 145bz) surged on heavy volumes.

Voltamp Energy (+9.19 per cent at 309bz) and Al Sharqia Investment (+2.97 per cent at 104bz) led the gainers while Taageer Finance (-3.08 per cent at 126bz) and HSBC Bank Oman (-1.32 per cent at 225bz) posted large losses.

The Financial sector gained 0.3 per cent on the back of heavyweight Bank Muscat (+1.09 per cent at 557bz), while Bank Sohar slipped 0.71 per cent to close at 139bz. The Industrial sector added 0.04 per cent with Oman Fisheries gaining (+1.82 per cent at 112bz), and the Services sector followed closely, adding 0.10 per cent.
