GM recalls 45,000 Chevrolet Sonic over wiper fluid issue

(MENAFN) General Motors Co. is withdrawing thousands of 2012 Chevrolet Sonic model cars on wiper fluid issue, Bloomberg reported. The carmaker said it will recall 45,000 Sonics manufactured from May 5, 2011 through February 24, 2012. Windshield wiper hose on these cars may separate from the washer fluid reservoir, which could prevent washer fluid from reaching the windshield so the wipers can clear the driver's view of the road, GM said. GM added it will notify owners, and dealers will fix the windshield washer hose, free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin around Sept. 7, affecting 44,668 cars.
