UAE- RAK opens skies for Russian tourists

(MENAFN) Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority has agreed with Russian tour operator Natalie Tours, in cooperation with Alpha Tours, introduce charter flights from Russia to the emirate, Arabian Business reported. The deal will see the launch of twice-weekly charter flights from Moscow to Ras Al Khaimah starting from October 2012 to April 2013. The direct Moscow charter flights are the result of several marketing and public relations efforts including a roadshow in June to the cities of Kazan, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, Ekateringburg and Samara, as well as Tyumen, Omsk, Novosibirsk and Surgut in July. The Russian charter flights that are expected to seat 156 passengers per flight, will be operated by Transaero Airlines. The charter flights are expected to bring an extra 7,000 Russian tourists to the emirate over the period. Victor Louis, chief operating officer for the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority said he expects the deal will increase demand to 17,000 room nights for Ras Al Khaimah hotels.
