Oman- Shops risk fine for failure to display accurate prices

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Omar Faisal al Jahadmi, director general of consumer services and marketing at the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP), has urged people to inform the authority about shops that do not display properly the prices of items on their shelves.

''I urge the public to report those shops which do not display prices properly to the PACP so that we can take action against them.

According to her, the date and time on the receipt is incorrect and it doesn't specify the fruits and vegetables bought.

''Further, the chicken was nowhere to be seen on the receipt. I'm not suggesting something illegal is going on, but the salesman could assign different prices to different clients and we would be none the wiser,'' she added.

''I understand that sometimes a little bargaining happens in such shops, but when receipts are introduced, things must be clear,'' she
