(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Bahraini Public Security Chief Major General Tariq Al Hassan stated today that the terrorist explosion that targeted the lives of security personnel as they were conducting their duty in Sitra at 5:30 this morning (Wednesday) caused the injury of two policemen with multiple injuries.
According to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Maj. Gen. Al Hassan said that specialized security forces immediately where at the crime scene as preliminary information indicate that the terrorist explosion was caused by a locally made explosive that was detonated from a distance. This in turn caused the ignition of the fire and dispersion of shrapnel which injured the policemen that were the target.
The injured were immediately transported to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, Public Security Chief indicated that the police forces immediately investigated the crime and were in pursuit of those involved in this criminal terrorist act.
