Kuwait- Firm to 'recruit domestic workers'

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has formed a committee tasked to implement a decision on the establishment of a joint stock company for the recruitment of domestic workers, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources. Sources disclosed the committee's functions include regulating procedures in the local labor market and dealing with labor disputes. Sources clarified the establishment of the joint stock company does not entail elimination of the domestic labor offices because the labor market in Kuwait is open for all. Sources pointed out the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has two companies for the recruitment of foreign workers and a large number of labor offices, so it is no longer surprising if Kuwait follows suit. Sources said the Labor Office Department at the ministry closely monitors the activities of the existing labor offices in the country to protect the rights of the workers and the employers.
