UAE- 86kg hashish and 10,000 tramadol pills seized from 2


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Ras Al Khaimah Police seized arrested a Gulf national and seized 86kg of hashish and an Emirati carrying 10,000 tramadol tablets in two separate operations. Colonel Ibrahim Ali Kaptain, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department of the RAK Police, said in the first case, the department received information from an informer about a Gulf national looking for a buyer for a quantity of hashish which he possessed. The police formed an investigation team which laid a trap and sent a decoy buyer who contacted the suspect. Both agreed on the place and time when the contraband would be handed over. The suspect arrived at the place on time carrying 86kg of hashish, but he got terrified and ran away. He was arrested from Sharjah later with the cooperation of the Sharjah Police. During interrogation, he confessed to his crime and was referred to the Public Prosecution.In the second case, the police received information about an Emirati trying to smuggle 10,000 tramadol tablets into the country from a neighbouring country through a land border. The police coordinated with RAK Customs and arrested the suspect while he was carrying the pills. Col Kaptain said the Anti-Narcotics Department with the support of the Ministry of Interior is chasing the criminals and their masterminds who traffic and smuggle drugs into the country to destroy the future of the young people. He urged the community members to cooperate with the police to prevent such activities which harm the society.
