UAE- Police warn against use of firecrackers


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Abu Dhabi Police will launch a media campaign today to raise awareness against the dangers of firecrackers on the users and the people around them. Announcing the launch, the police urged the public, especially children and teenagers, not to play with firecrackers to avoid the harm they might inflict. The police called upon the public to report about firecrackers on the emergency toll free No 999 or to Aman service on 8002626. Major-General Mohammed bin Al Awadi Al Menhali, Director General of Police Operations, Abu Dhabi Police, emphasised upon the families to instill positive conduct in their children and to show them an alternate game to play in place of firecrackers. Al Menhali said: "The campaign against the hazards of fireworks has been launched at this time to ensure public safety as Eid Al Fitr draws near."
