(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Wattayah Motors, the distributor of Volkswagen in Oman, celebrated Qaranqasho with the children of Child Care Centre in Muscat recently.
Volkswagen Oman, along with a dedicated group from its Volkswagen Owners Club, distributed candy and sweets among the children of Child Care Centre, along with face painting and other entertainment activities, ensuring that they had a great time.
Traditionally, it's the children that go around in the neighbourhood chanting greetings and wishes all the while receiving sweets and gifts from the homes they visit. But this year Volkswagen Oman has brought the celebration and the joy of the occasion to the children's doorstep albeit a day early, on August 2.
Qaranqasho is a special celebration held throughout Oman as a motivation for children who do complete their first 14 days of fasting. This popular occasion, celebrated in the evening of 14th day of Ramadan, is held to appreciate and encourage children who undertake fasting during the month of Ramadan.
Naji Zeitouni, marketing manager of Volkswagen Oman, said, ''We recognise our responsibility towards the community and would like to encourage anyone with the means to do the same.''
He further added, ''We greatly appreciate and respect the efforts of the Centre to provide love and care to these children and we are happy to do our part in supporting them in any way we can.''
Zeitouni has also assured Volkswagen Oman's continuous support to the Child Care Centre. As part of the initiative Volkswagen Oman has extended financial aid to the Centre by purchasing a projector, display screen and other equipment.
Thanking Volkswagen Oman's initiative to support the Centre's Qaranqasho celebration, Abdullah al Zidjali, manager of the Child Care Centre, said, ''It is indeed a true representation of social commitment and solidarity among members of our community.
''We hope that other private sector companies too will follow Volkswagen Oman's initiative to help the Centre and be part of such celebrations
