(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Continuing to spread cheer among children during Ramadan, Bank Sohar in association with the Oman Association for the Disabled organised a Qaranqasho event for children.
The Qaranqasho evening was held at the Oman Association for the Disabled, coinciding with the 14th day of Ramadan.
 ''Children are the future of the country. We need to instil in them the values that have been preserved for generations. We give primacy to cultural related events such as Qaranqasho as it provides children who are fasting during Ramadan, with an opportunity to get together and enjoy a fun filled evening,'' said Khalfan Rashid al Tal'ey, DGM- retail banking, Bank Sohar, said.
''Bank Sohar since its inception has been an active participant in events aimed at welfare of the community. We have sponsored and supported a number of events that have spread cheer among children, the youth and the elderly.
"We sincerely believe that it is our duty to do our bit for the society. Organisations such as the Oman Association for the Disabled have been doing their best towards the welfare of the Disabled in the country.'
The annual fun-filled event, was attended in large numbers by children along with their families, all dressed in traditional Omani costumes adding glitter to the evening.
The event commenced with a welcome speech followed by a recitation from the Q'uran.
Later the children enjoyed exciting games and entertainment programmes, specially arranged for the event.
The special evening also included Islamic songs, competitions for children and adults.
A drama show and puppet show made the evening a unique one.
At the conclusion of the unforgettable event, Bank Sohar presented children with exciting gifts.
