Sponsor Accuses Indian Of Stealing KD 2,000


(MENAFN- Arab Times) A 20-year-old citizen sustained stab wounds during a fight at a commercial complex in Salmiya area. He was referred to the Amiri Hospital by paramedics for treatment. Earlier, the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry received a call reporting a bloody quarrel had erupted among a group of youths at the commercial complex. Securitymen rushed to the location and found the youth with severe wound in his shoulder, as he was reportedly attacked by unknown persons who fled the scene afterward. A case has since been registered for investigation to look for the perpetrators. KD 2,000 stolen: A Kuwaiti man has filed a complaint with the Salwa Police Station accusing his Indian house help of stealing KD 2,000 from his car, reports Al-Rai daily. Police are looking for the absconding servant. The man's data has been circulated at all checkpoints. His name has also been added to the list of people banned from leaving the country. Pirated CD seized: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department, acting on information recently put three Asians under surveillance and caught them red-handed for selling pirated banned films to customers in Internet cafes and in select residential areas, reports Al-Qabas daily. The police then raided their apartment where they were copying the films and seized the CDs duplicating machines and other equipment in addition to a number of CDs containing banned movies. They have been referred, with the confiscated goods, to the concerned authorities. Donations collected: The Al-Jahra police have referred three Syrians to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor for collecting money allegedly for families affected back home due to the ongoing revolution in their country, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The men had reportedly collected about KD 21,000 without permission. During interrogation the men claimed the licence is with a clergyman who is currently in Medina in Saudi Arabia. Police later discovered the men were allowed to collect money and the permission was given to a charity foundation only in Al-Sabahiya and not in Jahra. The source noted the three expatriates have been arrested for violating the law of collecting donations outside the suburb of Sabahiya. It has been reported the men were also collecting money without issuing a receipt approved by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.
