Jordan- Court of Appeals upholds Dahabi bail denial


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) The Amman Court of Appeals on Sunday turned down a request contesting the Amman Court of First Instance's ruling to deny bail to former General Intelligence Department (GID) chief Mohammed Dahabi. Last week, the Amman Court of First Instance turned down the 17th bail petition submitted by Dahabi's defence team. The former intelligence chief is standing trial on several corruption-related charges. Dahabi, who headed the GID between 2005 and 2008, has pleaded not guilty to charges of embezzlement, money laundering and exploitation of public office.
