(MENAFN) Saudi National Chemical Carriers Ltd. Co. (NCC), a subsidiary of The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (BAHRI), has received new chemical tanker named NCC Najem from South Korea's SHINAsb shipyard, Saudi Gazette reported.
The vessel is part of nine vessels previously contracted by NCC during 2006 - 2007 for a total value of approximately USD458 million.
NCC Najem has cargo capacity of 53,200 cubic meters comprising (22) zink/epoxy coated cargo tanks with (20) full segregations.
The vessel will be commercially operated by NCC ODFJELL Chemical Tankers JLT, located in Dubai and owned jointly by NCC and ODFJELL SE of Norway.
NCC has additional three vessels under construction at SHINAsb for a value of USD155.78 million, and are expected to be delivered this year.
The company has another large chemical tanker to be built by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. for USD65.77 million, scheduled for delivery in 2013.
NCC currently operates a fleet of 20 vessels that transport chemicals, vegoils and clean petroleum products.
