(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French
President Francois Hollande are reported to hold talks Friday about
the European Central Bank's plans to launch new action to help head
off the crisis in the eurozone, dpa cited media reports as saying.
In particular, the French daily Le Monde reported the talks
between the leaders of the eurozone's two biggest economies are
expected to focus on possible moves foreshadowed by ECB chief Mario
Draghi on Thursday for the ECB to shore up the government bond
markets of nations at the centre of the debt crisis.
This could include buying up bonds issued by nations such as Spain
and Italy.
However, Merkel's spokesman Georg Streiter was unable to confirm
that the talks with Hollande will take place.
