(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Du has launched a fundraising campaign, 'Feekom Al Khair w Al Barakah' ('with your generosity and blessings'), the campaign encourages everybody living in the UAE to embrace the generous spirit of Ramadan by donating and doing their bit to help enhancing the lives of people.
The campaign is in partnership and support of the Ministry of Public Works and the renovation process will be solely executed and supervised by the Ministry, with their experts providing their know-how and services towards the cause.
Proceedings from donation will be handed over to the ministry which will manage the home renovations.
The partnership announcement was attended by Hala Badri, executive vice-president, Brand and Communications, du,and Sana Suhail, acting under secretary, Ministry of Public Works, among others.
Under du's Ramadan initiatives theme 'Khair w Barakah' (goodness and blessings), the home renovation fundraising campaign will allow the community to contribute in rebuilding and renovating homes for Emiratis across the UAE. Shaikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, said: "We thank the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for their directives on enhancing the living conditions for Emiratis by building and renovating homes for them across the UAE in accordance with the prevailing international standards."
He added: "We are proud of the fact that public spending on infrastructure in the UAE is the highest regionally. The quality of life in the UAE contributes to the growth in national economy and our efforts in this direction reflect our commitment to development of country."
"The UAE's generous spending on housing for Emiratis and home renovation projects has resulted in augmenting the living conditions of Emiratis. We encourage any initiative that translates the leadership vision to strengthen societal bonding and contribute to a sustainable development of people lives. We will support du's campaign by executing and supervising the renovation process," added Al Nahyan.
