UAE- Dh50 bill to have new security features on

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Amended Dh50 currency notes carrying new security features will be issued from July 30. The currency note will carry new security features through replacing the silver metallic thread on the front of the note with a broader three millimetre colour shifting thread reading 'UAE 50.' The overall design and other specifications of the note are going to stay. The front of the note carries the image of an Oryx head, while Al Ain's Al Jahilie Fort's impression has not been changed. The National Emblem is printed in silver metallic ink in the top centre on the front of the note, while 'United Arab Emirates Central Bank' is shown on the back of the note. The Colour Shift security thread is seen in small 'windows' on the front of the banknote. It changes its colour from magenta to gold when the new currency note is titled. When it is held against the light, the thread is seen as a continuous dark line with 'UAE50' as a light text. The new currency bill contains other security elements which can be seen only under ultraviolet light. Fibres are distributed across both sides of the note, some of which are visible and other which fluoresce under ultraviolet light. On the front, the red vertical serial number and the value numerical can be seen on the left side. The National Emblem can be seen on the right and also on the centre of the note. "This amended currency note will be put in circulation as legal tender along with the currency notes currently in circulation with effect from Monday July 30," a press release issued by the Central Bank of the UAE said Sunday.
