China's motor vehicles hit 233 million


(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - Australia) The number of motor vehicles in China in June topped 233 million up 3.67 per cent a year ago. This includes 114 million automobiles, up 7.66 per cent and 103 motorcycles, figures released on Tuesday by the Ministry of Public Security have showed. The number of vehicles has maintained rapid growth or 8.26 million in number, the Traffic Management Bureau of the MPS said. Eight provinces have more than 10 million motor vehicles each, while Shandong and Guangdong have more than 20 million. Automobiles in five cities, including Beijing, Chengdu, Tianjin, Shenzhen and Shanghai, have topped 2 million, according to the bureau. Meanwhile, 247 million people have driver's licenses, 186 million of them for automobiles.
