Jordan- Ammari urges industrialists to back Governorates' Development Fund

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) Industry and Trade Minister Shabib Ammari on Wednesday urged investors and industrialists to support the Governorates' Development Fund. Inaugurating the headquarters for the Society of East Amman Industrial Investors, Ammari said Jordan's economy needs to create jobs and increase exports. Also, investors' societies should work to regulate the industrial sector, he said, stressing the importance of the trade sector hand in hand with the industrial one. The society seeks to support industrialists in a bid to increase their competitiveness and productivity, besides developing the skills of human resources, according to its Chairman Iyad Abu Haltam. East Amman is home to around 1,000 small- and medium-sized enterprises which provide around 30,000 job opportunities, mainly for local workers. Earlier, Ammari visited few industrial companies in Marka and commended their performance.
