(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Online advertising is fiercely competing with more traditional methods within the realm of retail marketing with several retailers in Kuwait noting such approach had proven to provide more profit and exposure.
Speaking to KUNA on separate occasions, retailers said that online advertisement provided them with an option to promote their products in an alternative method besides newspapers, television, and other orthodox means.
Mohammad Surur, sales manager at a women clothing company, said that in the past, the company would issue catalogs to showcase its latest products which in turn was expensive; however, with the advent of online advertisement, a company could provide such promotion and get feedback to improve the quality of the products at less cost.
He noted that social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook also provided the company with an outlet to bring on more customers, pointing out that sales have improved by five percent on a monthly basis due to such approach.
Sharing the sentiment was Mohammad Hashim, manager of an electronic retail company, who indicated that orders for product on the company's Instagram site have exceeded the number of clients who are actually purchasing from the company's showroom.
Online advertisement had helped in lessening the promotion costs, said Yahya Samra, sales manager of a company specialized in selling laptops.
He indicated that advertising on Google would cost around KD 250 on an annual basis, affirming that had helped his company to transform from a small shop in Hawalli area into a huge electronics center.
