(MENAFN - Arab News) United Electronics Company (eXtra), one of Saudi Arabia's fastest-growing consumer electronics and home appliance retailers, has continued its ambitious Kingdomwide expansion plans with the opening of its first store in Oniza, the second in Qassim and ninth overall in the central region. The company's Kingdomwide network now stands at 27 stores.

Located on King Abdul Aziz Road, Al-Salhiya district, the Oniza store will serve a population of approximately 220,000. This is the third store opened by eXtra in the last three months which, in total, have increased eXtra's potential customer base by 700,000 people.

"The opening of our store in Oniza significantly builds on our already strong presence in the central region of the Kingdom, and keeps us firmly on track towards achieving our goal of having up to 40 stores across Saudi Arabia by 2015," said Mohammad Galal, CEO, United Electronics Company (eXtra). "As our ninth store in the central region, the new store will extend the eXtra brand promise of offering the widest range of products at the best prices, coupled with unique services, to hundreds of thousands more people in the Kingdom."

The company was recently voted by one of the Kingdom's leading economic newspapers as offering the "Best Retail Working Environment in the Kingdom. In both 2010 and 2011, the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) as one of the Kingdom's fastest-growing companies cited eXtra. In addition, eXtra was also recently named as one of the Arabia 500 top companies in recognition of its exceptional growth and sustained commercial success."

More than ten million shoppers visit eXtra's stores annually, making it one of the fastest growing companies in the Kingdom, according to the recent ranking by SAGIA. It offers over 12,000 different products, including an enormous range of leading international brands.
