(MENAFN Press) Fanar Production, a production company that specialises in producing animated content based on the spirit of Emirati culture, traditions and lifestyles, is set to launch the landmark seventh season of its famous show, Shaabiat Al Cartoon.
Created by Fanar Production, the cartoon is set to hit screens with a new set of themes this Ramadan, with Haidar Mohammed, Fanar Production's co-founder and Chief Creative Officer developing the cartoon further for 2012.
The popular animated show is aired every Ramadan, and the seventh series is the second to be produced 'in-house' at Fanar's own studios, with the socially-themed cartoon looking better than ever.
Fanar Production's co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, Haidar Mohammed, said: "It always excites us to release each new season of Shaabiat Al Cartoon every Ramadan, and to bring another series of episodes tackling important social issues for the region is a proud moment for Fanar Production.
Some of these subjects looked at during the different episodes this season are include the major issue of racing cars and speeding on public highways and streets by many of the region's youth.
Another topic Shaabiat Al Cartoon will investigate is how the different fashions of Abaya hitting the shops have distorted what this traditional dress really stands for.
"Building on previous seasons, we've partnered with some important and high profile sponsors to deliver each episode, with every programme seeing the Shaabiat Al Cartoon mixture of comedy and entertainment addressing social issues relevant to the region."
He added: "And, as always, we've taken on board our cherished fans' comments after season six, and incorporated some of their wishes in the latest series “ after all, they're our number one partner and without them we'd not be able to achieve the success we have today."
The cartoon has been supported by major sponsors again for 2012, with Etisalat acting as main sponsor for the series. Each episode attracts a different sponsor, often associated with the storyline being featured.
For 2012 there is a range of sponsors including The Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Awards, DEWA, Dubai Customs and the Dubai Government's Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation.
"Attracting sponsors is something which helps reinforce the themes that run through the cartoon," said Adnan Omar Al-Obthani CEO & Executive Producer at Fanar Production.
"The support of these prestigious sponsors helps Fanar to not only produce even better looking episodes of Shaabiat Al Cartoon, but it helps to highlight the important social messages contained within the cartoon, and demonstrates there's a real culture developing to address many issues people face in the region."
Shaabiat Al Cartoon has been running since 2006 after being invented by Haidar Mohammed and Fanar Production, who wished to create an entertaining and fun cartoon that focused on daily family and community issues facing people in the UAE and the Middle East.
It has been aired on Sama Dubai TV every year and has become a traditional programme for Ramadan. The show features various accents and dialects in the show, including Khaliji, Hindi, Levant and North African, making the appeal of the show widespread. English subtitles were also introduced for the DVD releases.
