Jordan- Constructive dialogue key to citizen empowerment

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) HRH Prince Hassan on Monday underlined the importance of constructive dialogue in facing the country's challenges. During a meeting with youths from the Social Development Centres Society in the southern Amman neighbourhood of Hai Nazzal, the Prince said that when talking about empowering citizens, emphasis should be placed on the common ground they share, which can only be determined through dialogue. The Prince pointed out that constructive dialogue is that based on example, diversity and absolute truth. He underlined the need for a "white" revolution of behaviours so that people start treating each other on the basis of "what you know and not who you know". Noting the citizenship means enabling every person to contribute in the decision-making process, the Prince called for renouncing all forms of discrimination. "There can be no development without human dignity," Prince Hassan said, adding that Jordanians have the capability to draw up specific plans for developing the future of the Kingdom. Meanwhile, the society's president, Feryal Saleh, presented a briefing on its development. Established in 1977, the society provides services to women and children in 52 areas across Jordan. Representatives of youth institutions, civil society organisations and societies attended the meeting.
