Vietnam's sole oil refinery resumes operations

(MENAFN) Vietnam's Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical's Co (BSR) CEO, Nguyen Hoai Giang, stated that after 8 weeks of shutdown, the country's only oil refinery resumed operations and reached full capacity, reported Reuters. Giang said that the company closed the facility on May 16 to check equipments, and planned to resume operations by the end of June, however, checks took longer than expected, and the refinery was re-opened during the weekend. The 130,500 barrels-per-day (bpd) refinery has been running with 90 percent of crude oil input from the Bach Ho grade. It is worth noting that the refinery supplies nearly a third of Vietnam's local fuel demand.
