Airbus' Alabama plant to cost USD600m

(MENAFN) Official's from Alabama said that the aircraft assembly plant Airbus plans to establish in the state will cost USD600 million and will produce A320 single-aisle passenger aircraft, reported AP. When it reaches full production, the plant, Airbus' first aircraft assembly factory in America, is expected to recruit 1,000 workers, and produce nearly 4 planes on a monthly basis in 2017. The facility, which will be located at Brookley Aeroplex, which was an Air Force base until its closure in 1969, will create around 2,500 construction jobs. It is worth noting that establishing assembly plants in Alabama is expected to drive the state's economic activity and reduce jobless rate, which stood at 7.4 percent in May.
