UAE- Water supply lines for rural farms

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City will supply fresh water to 1,334 registered rural farms at Dhaharat Al Teeb and Al Wafiya for five hours a day through a new supply line. The supply started on Wednesday is a bid to curb water wastage. Accordingly, the municipality will cease supplying rural farms with water through mobile tankers, except for the Razeen area, which will continue to receive water tankers pending the completion of the new fresh water supply line. The municipality said rural farms will be supplied with amounts of water sufficient for the number of animals in each farm free of charge and in a continuous manner, using cutting-edge techniques with a view to slashing transportation costs currently incurred through tankers. When fully completed, the network will be operated through irrigation water stations. The municipality has also provided other essential services, such as modern wooden houses for workers, to the owners of registered rural farms that replaced the outmoded arbitrary rural farms at Dhaharat Al Teeb, Al Wafiya and Razeen.
