(MENAFN - Arab News) The Bridgestone Tyre Safety and Eco Station (TSES) campaign, which is touring the GCC with its second annual road show, stopped over at Jeddah's Red Sea Mall and opened its multipurpose station to the public in the main activity area of the mall on the ground floor yesterday.

The station, which is open to the public from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., will run its education and awareness campaign on tire safety until today (Thursday).

The campaign, developed by Bridgestone Middle East & Africa FZE as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, was launched in 2011 and kicked off its second GCC wide tour last March in Doha, Qatar. With the support of Al Talayi Company Ltd., its trusted local distributor, Bridgestone urges drivers to understand the key role of tires for keeping a vehicle safe on the road, and that taking a few minutes to check the car's tires before driving can significantly reduce the risk of having an accident.

"Car's tires play a significant role for the safety of the vehicle and - most of all - of its passengers. Bridgestone is committed at making roads a safer place and with this campaign we want to increase motorists' awareness on the advantages of driving a vehicle with properly maintained tires," said Deep Rajendran, corporate communication and training manager at Bridgestone MEA FZE, who attended the ribbon-cutting inauguration ceremony this morning.

"At the Bridgestone Tyre Safety and Eco Station people can learn some simple and quick-to implement tires' checking procedures that should become a routine for every driver before going behind the wheel."

The campaign has already visited Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait; after the stopover in Saudi Arabia, the road show will end its tour in the UAE.
