Saudi Kayan awards contract to Jacobs Engineering


(MENAFN) Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company has awarded a contract to Jacobs Engineering Group to develop a process design package (PDP) and front end engineering design (Feed) package for its planned plant in Jubail, Trade Arabia reported. Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs will develop the PDP and Feed design packages for the upcoming ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) plant in the industrial city of Jubail. The US engineering group said that the plant will have an output capacity of 35,000 tons a year using ethylene from Kayan's existing olefins plant. Kayan is a unit of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) one of the largest petrochemical companies in the world. With over USD10 billion in revenue last year, Jacobs is one of the world's largest and most diverse providers of technical, professional and construction services.
