(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The RAK Criminal Court of First Instance has sentenced an Arab resident to seven years in jail for sexually abusing a young woman. He was also found guilty of robbing the victim's clothes and blackmailing her with indecent pictures he took with his mobile phone.
The court, presided over by Judge Yusuf Rajab, as well as Hamad Abdul Karim and Arif Humaidan as members, also ordered the deportation of the culprit.
Court records showed that the accused was earlier detained with the said mobile phone and the indecent pictures saved on it. The victim's underwear was also found in his possession. Though the man denied all accusations before the RAK Public Prosecution, he admitted to having consensual sex with the woman, and requested medical examination of the victim.
The court found the man guilty of the earlier charges, particularly abusing the pictures he had to disgrace her through the Internet.
In another case, the same court found a young man and four young women guilty of adultery. While the first was sentenced to five years in prison, the women were ordered to serve three years in jail.
