Indonesia's Pertamina to buy LNG from Australia, Africa 

(MENAFN) Indonesia's Pertamina's vice president for commercial and business development, Djohardi Angga Kusumah, stated that starting next year, the company will buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Africa and Australia, reported Xinhua News.

Kusumah said that the state-run oil and gas company will acquire 1 million ton per annum (mtpa) of LNG from each country, adding that the amount would be delivered to Indonesia's West Java floating storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU).

At the current time, the company is in talks with Australian and African parties, which Kusumah declined to name, however, in case the negotiations are concluded to formal agreements, Pertamina will import gas for 10 years.

It is worth noting that between 2013 and 2016, gas imports will be used to meet growing domestic demand, nevertheless, in 2017, Pertamina will let its allocation be taken by other buyers.
