Oil, natural gas output restrained at Gulf of Mexico: US

(MENAFN) The US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement stated that oil and gas companies operating in the Gulf of Mexico had restrained 7.8 percent of daily oil output and 8.16 percent of daily natural gas output at the site, reported Reuters. The bureau, which supervises oil and gas activity in the basin, added that the measures were taken due to Tropical Storm Debby that threatens the area. It said that the Gulf of Mexico contributes with around 20 percent of the country's oil output and 6 percent of its natural gas output. It is worth noting that 107,602 barrels per day (bpd) of oil and 367 million cubic feet per day of gas were shut in as oil and gas operators left installations and stopped operations.
