Hamas accepted Egypt''s truce offer

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Palestinian movement Hamas Saturday accepted an Egyptian offer of a truce in Gaza Strip. The Egyptian side "offered us truce in Gaza and they (Hamas leaders) accepted it," Ayman Taha, a Hamas official, told KUNA and added that Hamas did not contact the Egyptians nor requested the truce. He believed that Egypt was in contact with the rest of Palestinian factions for the same purpose. Taha said the truce was subjected to the "behavior of (Israeli) occupation on the ground. If the occupation exercises its aggression then the Palestinian factions will not be silent and there will be a retaliation." Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the army forces earlier today to intensify attacks against Gaza Strip. Hamas military wing, Izzuddin Al-Qassam brigades, threatened to retaliate against the Israeli "ongoing crimes" in Gaza.
