Jordan- Press association expresses solidarity with Al Rai, Ad Dustour

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) The president and council members of the Jordan Press Association (JPA) on Saturday paid a visit to Ad Dustour newspaper to express solidarity over a lawsuit the defence team of former General Intelligence Department chief Mohammad Dahabi filed against the Arabic daily. During a meeting with Ad Dustour Editor-in-Chief Mohammad Tal, JPA President Tareq Momani said the association is following up on the lawsuit filed against Ad Dustour and Al Rai newspapers, expressing confidence in the abilities of the judiciary to achieve justice, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. In March, Dahabi's defence team filed a lawsuit against the two newspapers for publishing "defamatory" reports about their client that claimed he used certain airlines and vehicles to smuggle substantial amounts of money into the country.
