Jordan- Exports to GAFTA member countries fall


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) The Kingdom's exports to the Greater Arab Free Trade Agreement (GAFTA) member countries dropped by 14 per cent during the first four months of this year, according to Department of Statistics (DoS) figures on foreign trade. Exports amounted to JD674 million by the end of April, compared to JD783 million during the same period in 2011, the figures revealed. The Iraqi market ranked first as it imported JD188 million worth of Jordanian products, followed by Saudi Arabia with JD163 million. The Kingdom's imports from GAFTA member states increased by 24.7 per cent reaching JD1.991 billion compared with JD1.596 billion during the same period last year.
