UAE- One arrested over forging labour cards


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Sharjah Police on Thursday arrested an Indian for allegedly forging labour cards. The Industrial Area police station received information about the activities of the man who allegedly charged Dh50 per forged labour card. The suspect used printers and copiers and other equipment found in his possession to replace pictures and identification information on the card with those of others. Based on the tipoff, the police managed to identify and locate the suspect and raided his house where printers and a large number of forged cards were found. The police arrested the suspect and confiscated all equipment used in the activities. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime and said that he forged five to 10 cards everyday for illegal residents and charge each of them Dh50. The police have referred the case to the Public Prosecution. The police have urged the public to complain about anyone suspected to be forging documents or carrying such documents. - afkarali@khaleejtimes
