(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Dubai Police have arrested a 24-year-old Iranian man for allegedly raping a Filipina housemaid in a drunken state.
The police received information that the 29-year-old Filipina, M.A., approached Latifa Hospital with her friends alleging that she was raped by her sponsor's brother and had been referred to Rashid Hospital.
She told the police that the incident happened early morning on June 16. She was sleeping with her sponsor's children on the first floor of the villa located in Al Warqa area. She heard knocks on the door and when she opened the door, she saw her sponsor's brother who was drunk. He suddenly pushed her inside, gagged and raped her despite her cries and attempts to resist.
She later told her friends about the incident and they took her to Latifa Hospital. She later lodged a complaint with the police who rushed to the villa and collected pieces of evidence.
The suspect was taken into custody on June 18 and during interrogation, he said he was so drunk that he was not aware of what all he did. He has been referred to the Dubai Public Prosecution on the charge of rape.
