Enerji close to completing installation of Carnarvon waste heat system

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - Australia) Enerji (ASX: ERJ) is at the final stages of installing its waste heat to power system at Horizon Power's Carnarvon Power Station. Two Opcon engineers had last week carried out precommissioning of the Opcon Powerbox without incident. Work is continuing at the site with the Opcon Powerbox acoustic enclosure and switchroom sound cladding to be completed this week. The addition of an Opcon Powerbox will provide up to 700 kilowatts of fuel and emissions free power, generating up to 6,000 megawatt hours per annum. The waste heat recovery system will do so by capturing heat wasted as a by-product of industrial power generation. Electricity is then generated using the Opcon Powerbox without fuel or creating emissions. Enerji will generate revenue by selling the electricity created by the Opcon Powerbox. The system is also expected to deliver customer savings of up A$5.1 million after five years and A$34.7 million after 20 years. The Opcon Powerbox has the capacity to produce more electrical power without burning additional fuel, while also potentially lowering CO2 emissions by up to 15%. Customer savings from the Opcon Powerbox have been estimated at up to $5.1m after five years and $34.7m after 20 years.
