Advanced Computer bullish as mobile and cloud demand surges

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - UK) Strong growth in mobile and cloudâ€"based applications helped healthcare and business focused software group Advanced Computer Software (LON:ASW) grow underlying annual profits by 13 per cent. The need for NHS cost savings and the delivery of more care in the home as UK population ages was driving "unprecedented" demand for mobile software applications both on handheld and tablet devices, said chief executive Vin Murria. Revenues rose by 10 per cent to £98.2m in the year to end February. Of this, 8 per cent was organic growth with 57 per cent of revenues derived from maintenance, hosting and managed service contracts. The customer retention rate remained above 90 per cent, ACS added. Health & Care revenues rose by 14 per cent to £22.7 mln. Business Solutions generated underlying revenue growth of 6 per cent, while the 365 Managed Services arm posted organic growth of 16 per cent. Underlying profits rose to £21.2 mln from £18.7 mln, with pre-tax profits more than doubled at £6.9 mln though this included a one-off gain from the sale of its police rostering business last year. Murria added she expected another strong year despite the tough economic climate. "Mobile working, shared services and cloud enablement are three key areas where our expertise assists our public and private sector customers to unlock efficiencies within their organisations. The group is trading well and is positioned for further growth in the year ahead, both organically and by acquisition." Future contracted revenues have risen to £110 mln from £78 mln, ACS added.
