Dubai- First phase of Al Hamriya Port development completed

(MENAFN) DP World, UAE region's senior vice president and managing director, Mohammed Al Muallem, stated that the company has finished the first phase of revamping the Al Hamriya Port, reported Arabian Business. Al Muallem said that the upgrades will strengthen the port's traditional capability and enhance its strategic location in the centre of Dubai, enabling it to meet customers and fishermen's growing demands. He added that the phase includes the upgrading of 1 million sq ft of open yards, which has been paved, metal fenced, and gated, and are now available for lease for traders and logistics firms. On the other hand, he said that DP World, the operator of Al Hamriya port, has started executing the second phase, which includes a modern facility that will be used only by the fishing industry at the port, adding that work on the facility is scheduled to finish during the current year. It is worth noting that the DP World's development will create a 1,650-metre long wharf, with an accommodation capacity of 190 fishing boats.
