(MENAFN) The American company, Synergetics USA Inc. announced on Monday that their third quarter profit was down due to a decrease in ophthalmic sales in Europe, reported AP.
The medical device manufacturer's profit slid from USD1.6 million last year to USD1 million this year. Revenue was also hit by the European economy and it fell from USD14.7 million to USD14.6 million.
Synergetics said that their results were disappointing and expects them to stay that way as long as the European economy remains in crisis. The company said that they are working on expanding their business to India, Russia and Brazil and hope to stabilize their sales in Europe.
