Kuwait- Check on visit visas to prevent begging

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The General Immigration Department has instructed the concerned officials to be strict in issuing visit visas to prevent the entry of beggars into the country, especially now that the holy month of Ramadan is fast approaching, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources. In a circular given to the officials, the department stressed the need to thoroughly check the background of those applying for visit visas to ensure no foreigner enters Kuwait for the purpose of begging. The officials have been asked to be vigilant, particularly if the visit visa applicants are women and elderly, because most of them are being used by unscrupulous individuals to beg during Ramadan; taking advantage of the people's generosity this time of the year. The department also coordinated with other units, such as the Criminal Investigation and General Security Patrols, to intensify a campaign against beggars and to take the necessary legal action against anyone engaged in this activity.
