Priyanka's piece

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Shouldn't segregate the industry by names or age: Priyanka Priyanka Chopra says that Bollywood should not be segregated by surnames or seniority of actors as they all are part of the same industry. The IIFA awards this year have been devoid of the Khans and the Bachchans, with the focus being mainly on young actors. When asked about her comments on this, the actress said, "I think it's wrong to segregate the industry by age or certain surnames. We are all here as actors and part of the same industry." With Priyanka's cousin Parineeti Chopra already part of two films and another cousin set to make her debut, the actress had said she is thinking of beginning a 'Chopra clan in Bollywood.' "I had said that in jest. Many of my cousins and relatives are coming into Bollywood and I am trying to pave their way." But her Teri Meri Kahani co-star Shahid Kapoor said, "The Khans and the Bachchans will surely be missed at any event they don't attend. I don't think anybody can match up to them." Talking about award functions, Shahid said, "Such events are a good mode of entertainment. Also, actors get to interact with the audience. It also feels good when your efforts in a film is appreciated, it gives you something to look forward to.
