UAE- Shurooq hosts delegations from Malaysia and Hong Kong


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) hosted recently two Far Eastern trade delegations from Malaysia and Hong Kong. They were received by Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of Shurooq, Elie Armaly, the Director of Business Development, Mohammed Al Musharrakh, Head of Investment Promotion, and Chief Operating Officer Ahmed Obaid AlQaseer. Commenting on the visits by these two delegations, Marwan Al Sarkal said, "Maintaining and expanding trade relations between the Middle and Far East have always been one of our key priorities for both regions, and we are very pleased to be able to receive our counter parts from these nations to explore further mutually beneficial relationships." Marwan Al Sarkal together with several other representatives from Shurooq welcomed the Malaysian delegation from �MATRADE Dubai/Malaysia Trade Centre', comprising of Vice Consul (Trade), Mazlan Harun, Marketing Manager, AhmadurRahman, and Marketing Officer, Mohammad Jamal, as well as the Investment Consul Sukri Abu Bakar and Investment Officer Ali, from the Malaysia Investment Development Authority. Shurooq and the delegation made use of the opportunity to discuss future cooperation and collaborations between the two parties, as well as the possibility of sending a delegation from Shurooq to Malaysia to meet with various large organizations and governmental authorities there to discuss investment and trade opportunities. Shurooq Director of Business Development, Elie Armaly, gave a presentation highlighting Shurooq's future investments and projects, and the delegation were taken to enjoy a business lunch at Shurooq's flagship development, Al Majaz Waterfront. Shurooq representatives also welcomed a delegation from the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in Dubai. The delegation, comprising of Regional Director, Middle East '&' Africa, Stephen Wong and Marketing Manager, Abed Al Aziz Nasser was introduced to Shurooq's current and future projects, such as the Kalba Eco-tourism Project, Al Majaz Waterfront, and the Heart of Sharjah project. Shurooq and the Council representatives took the opportunity to discuss future avenues of collaboration with a special focus on the fields of the environment, alternative energies, the health industry, tourism and logistic services. This meeting between the Council and Shurooq formed part of the preparations for the Authority's upcoming visit to Hong Kong on the 18th and 19th of June, during which they will be discussing their various development projects and promoting the numerous investment sectors in the emirate of Sharjah. Marwan Al Sarkal remarked, "We are looking forward to a highly rewarding successful visit to Hong Kong in June and as such consider this visit as an excellent chance to lay the groundwork for mutually beneficial trade and investment relationships with our colleagues in Hong Kong."
