(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A new department of political sciences has been set up at the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU).
It will be attached to the College of Commerce and Economics which will now be known as 'College of Economics and Political Sciences'. Also, the International Relations and Security Studies programme will be transferred from the College of Arts and Social Sciences to the new college.
SQU Vice-Chancellor Dr Ali bin Saud Al Bimani said the new department, established on orders from His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, would start admitting students from September next year.
He said a team had been formed to draw up syllabus for the political sciences programme, adding the new department will be headed by the SQU Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Community Service.
